Melissa Michele is a neurodiverse creator with a Fine Arts degree from the University of Victoria. Two of her children have autism diagnoses, and her youngest self-identifies on the spectrum. Art has always been a part of a healing journey for Melissa and her kids. It has taught them about who they are and  helped them to accept themselves.

Currently she is exploring rainbows and farm animals in her work, as it is a reflection of how life is a spectrum. Domesticated animals are often ignored, unappreciated and  not valued for their beauty and purpose. Melissa features farm animals in her work as way of honouring them.
